Chemical Name: Manganese Sulfate monohydrate- MnSO4.H2O
Properties:
Manganese sulfate is an inorganic compound with formula MnSO4.H2O. This pale pink solid is commonly used in agriculture as fertilizer additive. Like many metal sulfates, manganese sulfate forms a variety of hydrates: monohydrate, tetrahydrate, pentahydrate, and heptahydrate. The monohydrate is most common.
Manganese Sulfate uses in agriculture:
Manganese is one of the 17 essential elements for the growth of plants. However, it is used in very small amounts by plants, but it is very important to healthy plant growth, like all micronutrients. Among others, it plays a significant part in the process of photosynthesis. The deficiency of this element results in a severe shortage of chlorophyll in different parts of the plant. It also helps to activate specific enzyme systems. Other functions of this element can be indicated by increasing the resistance of plants to various diseases. Manganese also makes plants resistant to drought and heat.
Manganese deficiency symptoms appear as yellow leaves with green veins on the young leaves, and sometimes tan, sunken spots that appear between the veins. Plant growth may also be reduced and stunted.
Manganese Sulfate Fertilizer:
Manganese sulfate fertilizer is the most common source for manganese in plants. It is a water-soluble substance and is very useful to plants growth.
Usage and Dosage of Manganese Sulfate Fertilizer
Fruit Gardens:
In winter, in the shade of a tree, along with other fertilizers, you can use Manganese Sulfate fertilizer as 200 to 300 gr. per tree.
Crops:
After plowing apply with other winter fertilizer as 50-80kg / ha of Manganese Sulfate fertilizer in deep soil near the root.
Spraying:
Spray 3 to 4 Kg/ha for trees and 2 to 3 Kg/ha for crops.
Using this fertilizer for one to two years will supply soil needed of manganese. The use of this chemical fertilizer in combination with animal manure, especially close to the root of the plant, increases the efficiency of manganese sulfate fertilizer.
